Genderlobby.nl maps how advocacy around gender and transgender issues works. Lobbying is a legitimate part of democracy, but who exactly influences legislation, healthcare, education and media, and with what money, is rarely visible. The site does the research and lays out the sources: annual reports, charity filings, parliamentary papers, reports and quality journalism.
What you will find on genderlobby.nl
- Organisations: Transgender Netwerk, COC, Rutgers, Transvisie and their alliances, with their role in policy
- Funding flows: the Dutch emancipation policy, municipalities, lottery money and foreign foundations, with figures from annual reports
- Policy and legislation: self-identification, the conversion ban and the Rainbow Agreement, sourced from parliamentary papers
- Media and education: teaching materials, Purple Friday, GSA Network and style guides
- International: WPATH, ILGA, the Yogyakarta Principles and the 2019 Dentons guide
The tone is investigative and fair: factual, verifiable and without insinuation. Every article ends with a sources block. The site is in Dutch.
