About this site

Deouders.nl is the platform for parents of children and teenagers with gender-related questions. The site puts informed consent first: making sure you’re properly informed — about signs, assessments and alternatives to affirmation-only care — before making decisions. With its own reporting point for parents and a closed peer-support group.

What you’ll find on deouders.nl

  • Guides for parents: recognising signals, finding help, reading research, starting the conversation
  • A reporting point for experiences with clinics
  • Parents’ legal rights in youth gender care
  • International parent stories and case studies — from ROGD in teens to detransition testimonies
  • Articles on research that doesn’t make it into the media
  • Peer support, including via the Facebook group

Who it’s for

For parents who’ve just heard “I’m trans”, for parents who question the speed of the care pathway, and for relatives who want to understand what’s going on. When in doubt, don’t rush ahead.
